| 2LT Perez, 23, was born in Heidelberg, Germany. 2LT Perez was a 2005 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. She proudly served in a variety of leadership positions culminating as the first African American Female Corps Command Sergeant Major for the 2004-2005 academic year. 2LT Perez graduated in the top 10% of her class with a BS in Sociology and received a Regular Army commission in the Army Medical Service Corps. 2LT Perez’ military schools and awards are as follows: Army Medical Department Officer Basic Course, Combatives Level I, Special Reaction Team. Awards include the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and the Combat Action Badge.
