Pvt. Lucas M. Bregg 19 Wright City
| Iraqi Freedom 7-8-2009
Lucas wasn''t quite sure what he wanted to do. After graduating from Wright City High School in 2008, he worked as a roofer. He was also interested in anything related to cars. "He liked to do car work, body work; he loved that." He eventually decided on the Army, but recruiters turned him down at first because of bad eyesight. He asked them to reconsider, and he joined last summer. He wanted to celebrate the anniversary along with his own wedding and Father''s Day because he had been away. "We watched him become a man we''re damn proud of." Survivors include his mother, Tracie Green; two brothers, Zachary and Colton; and his sister, Taylor.

Baghdad, Iraq 5-21-2009

They hung out around the house. They have a big house and a big yard and a dog. They just did normal family stuff." "He was a family man. He was respectful and honorable." He was on his second tour and was assigned to Springfield, Mo. Brooks was an E-5 medic in the Army and was working toward an E-6 status. He was always interested in the nursing and health professions. He had worked as a certified nursing assistant prior to enlisting. On his most recent tour he volunteered to go to Baghdad. "He joined full time to help his family." He is survived by his wife, Nicole, and his eight children, ranging in age from 2 to 16, Denver, Samara, Cody, Seth, Hailey, Corey, Aidan and Logan.

Spc. Steven J. Fitzmorris 26 Columbia
| Adhamiyah, Iraq 8-25-2008
Steven J. Fitzmorris'' mother smiled thinking about her son''s ego. He was complex and multidimensional, and was different things to different people. "If 15 people were asked to describe him, they would give you 15 different adjectives." "He was just Steve." He was assigned to Fort Carson. Born in Natick, Mass., and raised in Alabama, Fitzmorris moved to Columbia, where he was living with his wife, Samantha, and had a 3-year-old son Joshua and 2-year-old daughter Mykenzee. An impulse drove him to sell magazine subscriptions door to door, traveling by bus and seeing the country. "He could sell ice to an Eskimo and make Ebenezer Scrooge laugh." To his friends and to his family, Fitzmorris was loyal. If someone needed him, he would find a way to be there. And the loyalty was mutual. "If you were a friend of his, you would go to the end of the world for him." "Even when he was mad, his eyes would be smiling at you."
