Eric Currier was a 2006 graduate of Londonderry High School's Adult Education Program, a night-school program designed to help students complete their high school education. Londonderry High School Principal Jason Parent was head of the program when Eric was a student.

Special bonds form between teachers and parents in the after-school program, Parent said, because often the students who are enrolled put in extra effort and study time to attain their diploma.

Spc. Adam M. Kuligowski
21
Arlington

As a student at Pinkerton Academy, Adam Kuligowski made his mark on a 2004 school trip to China when he climbed on a camel's back and was photographed wearing his signature cowboy hat.

Adam was "One of the kids who would do their own thing — but a very nice kid. It's a real loss."

Kuligowski was a signal intelligence analyst.

His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and NATO Medal.

Kuligowski moved back to Derry about 10 years ago. He attended Gilbert H. Hood Middle School and Pinkerton Academy.

"He would have become a wonderful man," his aunt said.

Kuligowski was close to his older brother, Stefan.

Pinkerton Academy yesterday lowered the U.S. flag in front of the clock tower to half-staff in Kuligowski's honor.

He attended the school from 2002 to 2006, a Pinkerton's spokesman.

"Adam was a unique individual."  "He wasn't one for formality or going by the rules. He had a spirit of adventure, for sure. He was the only kid who dared to get up on the camel in China." The cowboy hat made Kuligowski an instant celebrity with Chinese children. When he walked down a street, children crowded around him and wanted their picture taken with him. Was very intelligent, but not.

"He was a very quiet student."

Kuligowski steered clear of extracurricular activities, except for the television production club. He became an officer in the club. He is pictured in the Pinkerton yearbook smiling and sporting a head full of dark, curly hair.
