I am Francine Worthington, a member of the Oklahoma Rolling Thunder Chapter 3 out of Coweta Oklahoma. I live in El Reno, Oklahoma.
Next year the official Rolling Thunder is having their “Flame of Freedom Ride” from California to Washington, D. C. for the annual Rolling Thunder event on Memorial Day weekend in D.C. The 2010 ride will be on a different route this year and will go through Coweta, Oklahoma and make a stop. This is not part of the “Carry the Flame” ride.
We wish to invite all Oklahoma Gold Star families to our event and will notify you or a contact of your discretion of the May 2010 dates, as soon as they dates are available.
Depending on the number of families, etc., we would like to extend written invitations or may contact an initial contact if that would be better for everyone. Activities are: Escort of the motorcycle caravan from Oklahoma state line to Coweta. A meal. Program/Entertainment. And an escort to the Ark. State line. Can anyone please assist me in getting the names or how to contact Gold Star families in Oklahoma.

GOLD STAR LICENSE PLATE
The House of Representatives Texas has approved a new license plate for the Gold Star Members. The plate will have a big gold star with numbers on it and will say either Gold Star Member, or Gold Star Family Member. Texas has a Gold Star Mother plate, however Cliff Kesinger (Gold Star Father) contacted his Texas District Representative (Yvonne Gonzalez Tourilles) and asked that other members of a Gold Star Family could have one for their vehicle in honor of their Loved one lost in war. This plate is for all next of Kin of the Fallen Heroes. It will go into effect Sept. 2007. Check with your License Registration of your county and see if you qualify for this plate. The plate helps HONOR all Fallen Heroes from all wars, and conflicts in United States has been involved in. It is HB 3857 in the Texas House of Representatives. In Texas go online to www.txdot.gov then to Veichle Titles & Registration Forms and click on Application for Specialty Licences Plate. Fill form our and send to TXDOT.
